Just a little update to let ya know I'm pretty good at the moment.
Hi everybody! Jaime’s laptop is starting to go on the fritz, so we’re both taking precautions. We’re typing our posts in Word (or in my case, Works), then copying and pasting them into our blogs. Something we should probably do all the time. You’d think after losing a post or two b/c we hit a wrong button or accidentally brushed the touch screen, we’d learn. lol
Well, the job search is going well. The past couple of days have been spent calling the places I’d applied to in LaFayette and online. I have one definite possibility--RadioShack is hiring a part-timer after the 27th. My application’s already in, so all I have to do is check back with them the minute the position opens. They’ve said the manager is already looking at applications, so maybe he or she has already seen it. So far that’s my best shot. Most other places have said they’re not hiring, but they keep their applications for 60 or 90 days, so they’ve told me to keep checking back with them. A couple of apps will have to be renewed since they only kept them for 30 days. McDonald’s is up in the air at the moment--I can only contact the hiring manager on Thursdays after 5:30 PM, and the last time I tried, I ended up playing one-sided phone tag. Maybe I’ll have better luck next time. Meanwhile, Monday will probably be spent calling the places in Ft. Olgethorpe. I also plan to find a ride so that I can hit up more places sometime this week.
Being without a car hasn’t been too bad, but I do miss it. That’s something else I need to do--call the DMV and find out if my license is indeed suspended and how much it will take to get it back. I was going to go in person the last couple of times I was out with Jaime, but we both forgot b/c we were so focused on the job hunt.
As for the car itself, it’s sitting at Katie’s. The battery’s dead. Well, can’t drive it anyway, so there it will stay until I get license, insurance, and tag, or until it’s sold. Whichever comes first.
It’s taken me awhile to type all this b/c I’ve been distracted. The kids were watching The Spiderwick Chronicles on DVD. Cute movie! Now they’re about to watch a movie called Kavik the Wolf Dog. Never heard of it. I’m gonna try to work on CS some more after I finish this blog, but I guess it’ll depend on whether this movie distracts me too. lol
Speaking of CS, I’ve been busy and so has Jaime. I’ve been tweaking #4 and Jaime has been starting over on #7 again and again. lol We’ve both been tossing around new ideas and digging up a few old ones we decided to recycle. Good thing I kept the old versions of what we had written!

Now that we’re back to our regular system, the writing has been going a lot better. It sucked when I was in jail--there was no way we could read what we’d written to each other! Poor Jaime! She hated it and so did I. I also hated handwriting, especially in pencil. I hate pencils b/c they get dull and you can barely read what you’re writing. And when you can’t sharpen a pencil anytime you want, that gets extremely annoying!

I still haven’t transcribed all my handwritten scenes yet. Some of them I will need to go through and pick out elements to use, then toss the rest, b/c after reading over them we realized they wouldn’t work with what we have. But at least I did come up with a few cool things. However, like I said, I missed our system. I am sooo glad to be back at Jaime’s, doing what we love to do! I feel like me again.
This past Wednesday, Jaime took Alex and me to the library so I could sign him up for that summer reading program. He had a blast. We checked out FIFTEEN books, b/c that’s how many we needed to read to catch up. That kid wore me out. We’ve already read ALL of them except one. We read eleven of them in just one day!
Then three the next day. There were six Curious George books, and Alex insisted upon reading them twice! I didn’t mind. I love the fact that my kid is a bookworm like his mommy. I can’t wait till he starts reading himself!Well, not much else to report. Life is getting back to some type of normal. Things are looking up. In short, it’s all good. So now I’m gonna leave reality for awhile and have fun catching up with my fave group.
BFN!

The last letter that I wrote to you just came back yesterday. It was returned as undeliverable b/c you had moved. I was never so glad to have a letter returned as I was to get that one!!
It's great that things are getting back to normal! Good luck with the job search and everything else. Take care!
